De Cocksdorp is located in the north of the island. The village has nice shops and restaurants and in the summer every Thursday is the Durpermarkt. The location of the village, on the border between the Wadden Sea and the North Sea, is unique. The beach around the lighthouse is wide and has nice beach pavilions.
